All Dressed Up . . .
- Blog Type:
And nowhere to go - but UP.
That's always the way it is when you take on something new, along with the excitement of seeing something you set out to do come into being. I think the effort has paid off and I'm glad to be at this phase now.
So, what was I thinking when I put this site together? To be honest, I never started out thinking of all the possible things it would encompass and now I actually have a list of things yet to do that grows each week. I started with a simple concept - to have a web presence that would allow me to showcase a book I had written and is now at the final galley stage ready for my approval and publication. That has been a long road with several potholes along the way, but sometimes it really is the journey that counts and not so much the destination.
I suppose I should have allowed those smarter than I to take over at this point, but I have always been a bit of a "hands on" kind of guy and figured I may as well see this one through to the end. Now, this thing has taken on a life of it's own and I'm not sure where it will stop. All I needed was one or two page design with a link to Amazon. I may have overshot that a bit. It has grown in concept to now include blogs and stories and lessons and tweets and ways to connect with others who share a common Christian faith. A way to exchange thoughts with other believers seeking how to better understand what we believe, why we believe it and how to live it. Yes, it gives me a place to rant on the government a bit as well or keep you in the loop on things I find funny or irritating or concerning or all of the above.
I didn't want a static depository of information, you could buy a book for that. (Did I mention my book is available now?) Instead, I would love to see those here mold this place into something living, peopled by others who can help carry burdens or provide encouragement and prayer. To be able to discuss anything and everything involved with living as a Christian - even those subjects you can't ask your church or pastor because they wouldn't understand. This is a safe place to have honest conversation in order to "do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth" (2 Tim 2:15).
Welcome, again, and remember to live as though we were - the last generation.
Terry
